Bill For Same Day Registration Passes in Illinois With Support of Chicago Votes

June 10, 2014

Chicago Votes is a civic organization created for and by leaders from the city’s Millennial and Hip Hop Generation. With “young people power” Chicago Votes Action Fund aims to change politics as usual.

Recently, with support from various organizations, including Voqal Fund, Chicago Votes was able to support the passage of a bill in the Illinois Legislature that allows for election-day voter registration this year. The law would also extend in-person early voting hours, remove identification requirements for in-person early voting and allow public universities to serve as locations for election day in-person absentee voting.

With that win under their belt, Chicago Votes is setting their sites on registering more voters. For more information about Chicago Votes visit their website.
