On Nov. 5, Media Impact Funders and Vulcan Productions welcomed documentarians, journalism outlets and funders focused on climate change to Boulder, Colo., for the “Crafting High Impact Environmental Media” symposium. Participants discussed whether productions are moving audiences and policymakers to action, and how best to collaborate to effect change.
John Schwartz, director and founder of Voqal, spoke about leveraging partnerships amongst independent reporting outlets in order to have a greater impact on issues. Other speakers included representatives from National Geographic, the Oceanic Preservation Society, Mother Jones and the Discovery Channel.
