Voqal is pleased to announce five new grants to organizations working in the Denver area to enhance the community and strengthen social equity. The grants of $20,000 to 9to5 Colorado, $12,000 to ProgressNow Colorado, $10,000 to New Era Colorado Action Fund, $10,000 to NARAL Pro Choice Colorado and $13,000 to CIRC Action Fund reflect Voqal’s commitment to support progressive movements for social change.
9to5 Colorado
9to5 is one of the largest, most respected national membership organizations of working women in the U.S., dedicated to putting working women’s issues on the public agenda. It works to build a movement for economic justice, by engaging directly with affected women to improve working conditions. With Voqal’s support, 9to5 Colorado will organize and promote a ballot campaign aimed at passing paid sick days during Colorado’s 2018 elections.
ProgressNow Colorado
ProgressNow Colorado is the state’s largest online multi-issue education and advocacy organization aimed at promoting progressive ideals. Voqal’s support will enable Progress Now Colorado to extend its reach and more effectively engage with the public on progressive issues and to continue its Media Monitoring Project aimed at spotlighting and correcting misinformation in Colorado’s media landscape.
New Era Colorado Action Fund
New Era Colorado Action Fund is a multi-issue organization committed to reinventing politics for a new generation through innovative social and political action. With Voqal’s support, New Era Colorado Action Fund will work with young voters to engage them in the 2018 elections.
NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado
NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado develops and sustains a constituency that uses the political process to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive health choices, including preventing unintended pregnancies, bearing healthy children and choosing legal abortion. Voqal’s support will assist NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado in advocating for pro-choice public policy in 2018.
CIRC Action Fund
CIRC Action Fund works to build a strong and thriving Colorado where all residents are treated with dignity and respect and have equal access to a fair and just quality of life and the opportunity to live united with family members. It advocates for fair, humane and workable public policies and increases the civic participation of new Americans. With Voqal’s help, CIRC Action Fund will work to resist national anti-immigrant efforts through local and state support.
