A Poetic Profile of the 2019 Voqal Fellows: Inkfluence

May 17, 2019

This week we take a look at the penultimate installment of this year’s Voqal Fellowship poem, Cooperative and Collaborative Politics of Change. The poem was created by Adrian H. Molina through a process called Live Scribe Poetics that took place during the Fellowship convening back in January.

VII. Inkfluence

What is true within mixed reality?
When the experience is augmented?
When activist dreams become virtual?
What translates to the concrete
when everything goes digital?
Where does the ink land?
While the Buddha Board is meditative muse,
what colors stick to the canvases
when The Cloud replaces the clouds?
How deep does your digital imprint sink?

“We know that what you measure
determines your values,”
directs your outcome,
defines your impact.
How tangible is the truth
within the testimony? Within the data?
If the sheeple stay asleep inside the steeples?                             WAKE THEM UP!

“People know how to do this shit now!”
We know how to do this shit now!!
So how do we do this shit now?
“In all of human history, there has never
not been an informal economy.”
Nor has there ever been policy
favorable to humanity.

To “unfuck politics” we must influence the ink
and let it dry in our collective image.
