Applications are now open for the 2022 Voqal Fellowship. The Fellowship provides a $30,000 stipend for six months to work on an early-stage idea with hands-on storytelling and business development coaching.
The Voqal Fellowship is a talent and startup accelerator that provides those historically left on the outside a chance to enact their vision at center stage. Voqal seeks social justice-oriented leaders, thinkers, doers, and believers who have an idea for a new way to organize communities and bring about equitable social change.
“As the Voqal Fellowship enters its seventh year, we are excited to continue our support of individuals who not only lead positive and lasting change but are intimately connected to the communities in which they work. We believe these individuals are leading the way to create the more progressive and socially equitable world Voqal exists to help advance,” said Mary Coleman, Voqal’s program manager for grants and fellowships.
Voqal centers the Fellowship around multiple facets of starting and sustaining a project to allow fellows to best set up the structures needed for long-term success. This approach allows each Voqal Fellow the opportunity to connect with any audience of any size and to showcase why they have the experience and knowledge to enact their vision for a better future.
While the Fellowship is issue agnostic, projects should focus on building power in and with historically underrepresented communities. The ideas should be bold and focused on reforming institutions and structures.
At the conclusion of the Fellowship, all Fellows will prepare a final presentation that demonstrates growth and learning.
