A project of Voqal and the Chicago Filmmakers, the Chicago Digital Media Production Fund is now accepting grant proposals for 2018. The Chicago Digital Media Production Fund is intended to support digital media works that encourage social change. The fund supports artists with varying levels of experience, both to recognize accomplished individuals and to provide opportunities for young and emerging artists.

Up to $20,000 is available for independent digital media projects that seek to advance progressive social change. The deadline for applications is April 23, 2018 and requires that all works funded are available for free online viewing by no later than July 15, 2019 to ensure they reach the widest possible audience.

Last year, Voqal and Chicago Filmmakers awarded a total of $100,000 in grants to nine Chicago-area digital media artists’ projects in amounts ranging from $2,200 to $18,000. This year, the Chicago Digital Media Production Fund plans to again award $100,000 in grants.
