Chicago Digital Media Production Fund is Now Accepting 2017 Proposals

February 24, 2017

Have a great idea for a digital project that will create positive social change? The Chicago Digital Media Production Fund is accepting proposals from Chicago-based digital media artists who seek to advance social change through digital projects.

This year, the Production Fund will award a total of $100,000 to independent projects with grants ranging from $500-$20,000. Applicants of all ages and skill levels are invited to apply, and projects in any phase of production will be considered.

Proposed projects should be appropriate for youth (13+) and must be aimed at advancing social change, while maintaining quality production values and aesthetics. In addition to videos, other digital media, such as interactive apps and games, will be considered.

Applications will be accepted online until April 9, 2017. All funded projects must be made available for free online by the completion deadline of June 15, 2018 with the intention of reaching the widest possible audience.

The Chicago Digital Media Production Fund is a project of Voqal Fund and is administered by Chicago Filmmakers. Chicago Filmmakers is a not-for-profit media arts organization that fosters the creation, appreciation and understanding of film and video as media for artistic and personal expression, as well as media of important social and community impact.
